Bacon and scrambled eggs

Without seeing what the title is, yesterday,

I started watching this film midway

In it were five or six bank robbers who were

hitting the highway

I managed to fall asleep a while before the end, but then,

for breakfast there was toast

It looked good, the bacon and scrambled eggs

A blue cloth, plates, lukewarm COKE and toast

I drowsed off for a while until midday

I washed my face and headed out the door

Without a plan as to where I’m about to go, I’m

hitting the highway

After the fourth exit, I slowly parked at the side

There was a dark tunnel and just as I walk out

A gentle wind stirs up the dust

I took a drag of the fire that lit on the third try, making clouds

Looking up, there in front of a butcher’s shop

Pieces of meat from different parts were hung with strings from the top

and in the back, a man-supposedly the owner-was holding a butcher’s knife in his hand

Bam bam, I heard it strike twice

And without any odor

The dog lay on the floor

There were unfamiliar neon signs in a row

along a lonely path that went right and left and I ran out of breath

On and on, alone, the shadows grow long in the city coloured red

And down the road, absolutely no idea whatsoever where I was wandering

An old woman with a child passed by

who left behind a dry cough and then they went away

Up a flight of makeshift stairs, made of steel or aluminum, probably

Then I see some light peek through a hole and I go

on a tin roof and I saw a house with an open window

Entering, I held my breath

The fuzzy carpet there, it felt rather nice

In the glow of the television, there was that actor who I think I know

hitting the highway
